Once, in a forest, lived a fierce demon named Daruk and his wife Daruka. Because of a blessing from the mata Parvati, Daruk became egoistic and began disrupting Hindu festivities. He captured a devotee of Shiva named Supriya and imprisoned them.
Despite captivity, Supriya continued her daily Shiva Puja and chanting the Om Namah Shivay mantra. Impressed by her devotion, Lord Shiva manifested and established a divine Jyotirlinga at that place. He defeated the demons, and the place known as Darukavan, with the Linga named Naganath. And then that place is known as “Nageswar Jyortirling” and “Nagnath Jyotirlinga“.
How to reach Nageswar Jyortirling:
The Nageswar temple is 16km away from the main Dwarkadhish temple.
To reach the Nageswar temple, several transportation facilities are available like Buses, taxis, Bikes, etc.
Local people and visitors of Dwarka also walked to Nageshwar Temple to fulfill their different beliefs and wishes.
